After their uber-successful platinum-selling album Overexposed spawned four top 10 singles, pop group, Maroon 5, is now ready to add a new hit to their growing repertoire. “Maps” has been announced as the first single from their fifth studio album entitled V.
The Idolator reported that it is set for a June 16 release on Itunes. Their new album V, will be released on September 2nd and feature production from Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin. Jesse Carmichael, a longtime keyboardist for the group didn’t record with them for their last album, but will make his return for their fifth release.
Meanwhile, frontman Adam Levine is preparing to marry longtime girlfriend and Victoria Secret model Behati Prinslooin Mexico on July 19, reports The Daily Mail.
“Maps” will have some big shoes to fill after the bands last five singles where platinum-selling, top 10 smash hits. How will it fare against the rest of the competition for song of the summer? Only time and sales will tell.
