After reports started springing up late last night that screenwriter Max Landis (Chronicle) would be writing a new draft of the Ghostbusters 3 script, Landis took to his Twitter account himself to clear the air on what is actually happening.
After NikkiFinke.com gathered unidentified sources saying that Landis would be doing a polish on the script, Max himself went on to tweet the following series of corrections:
Hey guys, it pains me to say this, but you know I pride myself on being straight up person. Zero truth to the Ghostbusters report.

Frankenstein, Me Him Her, American Ultra and Mr. Right come out next year. Working on things at Uni and Sony, and indies. GB3, sadly, no.

What might have happened is they saw the rad Frankenstein thing and my name was brought up, but it being reported has probably fucked me

(If it was ever real at all) (which it might have been) (I hope)

The weirdest thing is it appears the big properties I have put in work on remain secret, yet Wonder Woman and Ghostbusters get reported?

I guess that's just the industry man. Something strange in the neighborhood.

Probably a lot of people relieved, and probably a lot of people disappointed. Count me among both camps.

Landis went on to jokely "pitch" his idea for Ghostbusters 3 and also reveal what he considered to be the "best 3s."
This is not the first, but the second rumor this week that NikkiFinke.com has started, only to have the primary person involve deny their involvement on Twitter. The other was from Steve Martin, who, after reportedly being involved with Father of the Bride: Part III, denied any involvement with the film.
