McDonald’s is one of the most popular fast food chains in the world, but recent surveys are showing that it is America’s least favorite fast food chain. A new report that was just released by American Customer Service Index reveals that according to a survey of 4,500 people on how they were satisfied with their experience at a chain restaurant, McDonalds finished dead last.
The Huffington Post is reporting that the average satisfaction score at a fast food restaurant is 80 out of 100. McDonald’s had a score of 71 this year, which is down from their previous score of 73 in 2013. McDonald’s has said that they have been struggling for quite a while, trying to make changes to their Dollar Menu as well as dealing with fast food protests with the focus on improving working conditions and raising wages.
McDonald’s will try to improve their customer service, especially when fast food restaurants in general are showing the lowest customer satisfaction. Taco Bell with 72 and KFC with 74 were the next two lowest satisfaction scores that just beat out McDonalds.
NBC News also comments that due to consumers slowly emerging from the recession, they are choosing places with better customer service and better quality meals from other chain restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse or Olive Garden. McDonalds may be one of the most well known restaurants in the world, but they don’t want to be known as having the least satisfied customers.
