For the role of a washed-up actor trying to relive his former glory after playing a well-liked superhero back in the day, Michael Keaton is basically perfect casting for Alejandro González Iñárritu's upcoming comedy Birdman. Now, the first trailer has been released to showcase just a taste of what could very well be Keaton's comeback as well.

Starring Emma Stone, Zach Galifiankis, Amy Ryan, Edward Norton and Naomi Watts, alongside Keaton, this movie is a decidedly different affair for Iñárritu, a filmmaker who has established himself on super-serious works like Amores Perros, Babel and Amores Perros, just to name a few. Word that he would be working on the project came out in late 2012.

Whether or not his efforts in the opposite direction are going to work in his favor are going to be determined when the movie comes out on October 17. Although, expect to see the movie popping up in a least a few film festivals before that date.

Although available now is the first poster for the film, available at Fox Searchlight's website.
