A Michigan Christian radio host named John Balyo has been arrested and faces sex charges for attempting to pay someone to have sex with minors.
According to New York Daily News, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were doing an investigation and a connection was found between a human trafficking case and Balyo.
Until his arrest, Balyo worked for WCSG Radio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He faces a first degree charge of criminal sexual misconduct.
The person he allegedly paid to have sex with minors, Ronald Lee Moser, was arrested earlier this month, where officers found a minor in his home, as well as child pornography. A website he ran led the investigators to Balyo.
According to USA Today, a statement from WCSG’s general manager, Chris Lemke, stated Baylo has been “put on indefinite paid administration leave pending further investigation.” A statement was issued by the radio station’s affilitate, Corner Stone University, saying the station no longer had an affiliation with Baylo.
Balyo was arrested Friday during a Christian music festival where he was working in Gaylord, Michigan.
