The disappearance of an Alaskan family of four has gone under investigation by the FBI.

The family was made up of 37-year old Brandon Jividen, his 22-year-old girlfriend Rebecca Adams, and her two daughters, ages 6 and 3, Reuters reported.

The family has been missing for two weeks, but an investigation began when the police department became concerned.

Lieutenant David Ross of Kenai Police Department was the one who reached out to the FBI.

“They don’t normally not pay rent and they don’t normally leave without their cars," Ross said.

According to the Associated Press, relatives of Adams said they left all of their things behind.

Both cars remained, as well as the car seats for the daughters. However, the family’s dog is also missing.

Family members of Adams said she had been acting strange before the family disappeared, ABC News reported.

Adams reportedly made a desperate call to her sister around Memorial Day weekend.

"She sounded very distressed," Adams said. "She just told me: 'Know that I love you,' and she had to get off the phone very quickly."
