More than 80 fans of Avicii had to be transported to the hospital during his Boston concert due to health problems caused by alcohol, heat and illegal drug use on Wednesday June 25.

Avicii is a Swedish performer and DJ, known for his electronic sound and his songs “Hey Brother” and “Wake me up.”He performed his Boston tour stop at TD Garden, a venue now being cited for intoxicated patrons and illegal use of drugs within the venue according to WHDH.

In a statement by a spokesperson for the music promoting organization of Live Nation Jacqueline Peterson said that the majority of those transported to the hospital were “people outside the venue who were too impaired to be allowed inside,” at least according to early reports as reported by the Associated Press. Many were simply transported as a safety measure.

EMS Deputy Superintendent for Boston Mike Bosse echoed this message saying, according to the same report by the Associated Press, that there appeared to be no life-threatening injuries.
