Niall Horan got a bloody knee during the One Direction concert on Wednesday night in Amsterdam, after an overzealous fan threw a shoe onstage and it hit him pretty hard.
Horan remained professional as he continued on with the show, but it was visible that he had some issues getting around stage after the incident.
He took to Twitter to show his enthusiasm for the crowd, but did bring up the shoe-throwing event as well.
“I honestly think that last nights crowd in Amsterdam was one of the loudest one direction crowds yet! The place was rockin! Thanks Holland,” adding, “Amsterdam thank you for a great couple of shows! Appreciate you coming.”
He then let fans know he was in a “lot of pain” from the shoe.
“Also guys! Can you limit what gets thrown on stage please! Coz somethin thrown at me tonight! Hit my knee! A lot of pain from it!” he said. “Never wana sound like I'm complaining! But only having my operation 5 months ago, I still get a bit of pain and I'm very scared about it.”

According to USA Today, Horan’s bandmate, Harry Styles, threw the shoe back into the crowd but not before smelling it. A concert-goer uploaded the video to Vine.
Back in January, Horan had major knee surgery and had to take a couple months off from touring to recover.
