Paul McCartney announced that he would be rescheduling June dates of his U.S. summer tour until October so he can continue to get a little more rest as his doctor has ordered.
The former Beatles singer had to cancel several shows in Japan and South Korea in May after getting sick with a virus.
Once the 71-year-old had recovered enough from his illness, he flew back to the U.K. to continue his recuperation.
It was believed that he would be totally recovered in time for his U.S. summer tour, but apparently his doctors thinks he needs more time, Reuters reports. "I'm sorry but it's going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again," McCartney said in a statement. "I'm feeling better but taking my docs' advice to take it easy for a few more days."
The tour was set to kick on June 14 in Lubbock, Texas, instead it will begin on July 5 in Albany, New York. The stops in June, including Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Nashville, Tennessee and Louisville will now be played in October.
