Authorities said that two Wisconsin pre-teenage girls are facing charges of attempted murder after they allegedly stabbed their friend more than a dozen times.

According to WISN 12 News, police officials said that the two 12-year-old’s lured the victim of the same age, into the woods on Saturday and stabbed her repeatedly.

"One suspect held the victim down while the other suspect stabbed her 19 times in the arms, legs and torso," said Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack.

The young victim was able to get away and was spotted by a bicyclist when she ran into a roadway.

The Huffington Post noted that the stabbed girl was taken to Waukesha Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Investigators have not released a motive for the crime, but believe that the incident was part of long-planned plot by the suspects to kill the fellow teen.

The pair is being held on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and they are expected to be charged as adults.
