President Barack Obama blasted the lawsuit that Republicans plan on filing against him over executive power abuse claims on Friday, saying their issue is that he is actually trying to accomplish something despite their best obstructionist efforts.

"Now Republicans are mad at me for taking these actions. They're not doing anything, and now they're mad that I'm doing something," the president said while speaking in Minnesota. "If you're mad at me for helping people on my own, then why don't you join me and we'll do it together."

According to NBC News, Obama continued to slam Republicans in Congress adding, "They don't do anything except [to] block me and call me names."

On Wednesday, Speaker of the House John Boehner announced the GOP's intent to file a lawsuit against for the president saying that Obama has been issuing unconstitutional executive orders.

"In my view the president has not faithfully executed the law," the House Republican said. But added, that the lawsuit isn't meant as a step towards impeaching Obama.

According to Politico, the same day the announcement was made, the Democratic congressional Campaign Committee had its best fundraising day for the year so far, raking in $584,000.

The best day before yesterday was when they raised $460,000 back in February when House Budget Committee Chairman revealed he would be releasing the 2015 budget.
