Fans of the hit ABC Family TV show, Pretty Little Liars know Lucy Hale as Aria Montgomery, the quirky, artistic teenager with a penchant for hipster clothing and torrid love affairs, but now they have the chance to get acquainted with the actress on another, more personal level.
The 24-year-old Memphis native released her debut country album, Road Between Tuesday, Broadway World reports. The album features 11 tracks, including Hale’s widely popular single, “You Sound Good to Me,” and was created with the help of some of the biggest names in country music. Topping off the list are producers, Mark Bright and Mike Daly as well as fellow vocalist, Joe Nichols and singer-songwriter, Kacey Musgraves.
And while Hale has undoubtedly found success through her acting career, music has always been her first passion. After winning a televised singing competition called American Juniors at age 13, Hale set out to land a record deal, Rolling Stone says. When that didn’t happen, she decided to step away from music for a little while, and re-shifted her focus toward acting. Hale eventually gave music another try and recorded Road Between while filming Pretty Little Liars.
In addition to Hale’s single, “You Sound Good to Me,” Road Between showcases her musical abilities with tracks like “Nervous Girls,” “Kiss Me,” and “From the Backseat,” Billboard states. The site also highlights Hale’s co-writing capabilities on “Just Another Song.”
Hale will give her first Grand Ole Opry performance on June 21, according to Digital Journal.
