After a jury verdict on Wednesday, it was determined that Country star Scotty McCreery owes his former manager $239,329.
According to The Tennessean, Todd Cassetty, the music industry veteran, sued McCreery last year for the pay that accrued over the five months he managed him. Cassetty had argued that he was owed the standard 15 percent of revenue, but McCreery disagreed and it was taken to court.

Last July the former American Idol winner issued a public statement saying that the accusations were false. He said he had in fact offered to pay Cassetty, but that he was asking for an unreasonable amount of money, CMT.com reported.

McCreery issued another statement following Wednesday verdict. "I am very pleased with the management fee ruling of only $239,000, which was less than half of the $570,000 Mr. Cassetty requested," he said in the statement. "It was always my intention to pay Mr. Cassetty and indeed had offered to pay him more than once. His request, however, for over half a million dollars was too much for a few months of work.”

The “I Love You Big” singer thanked his fans for their support and said he looks forward to putting this behind him and continuing to focus on his music.
