Singer Grimes, known for her voice and the eclectic ethereal quality of her songs, is trying something a little different with her new song “Go.”
Also known as Claire Boucher, Grimes is recognized for her poppy songs such as “Genesis” and “Oblivion,”with the former song making NPR Music's 100 Favorite Songs of 2012 list. Now the singer is back, this time sharing a song called “Go” that she produced with Michael Diamond who is also known as Blood Diamond as reported by NPR.
This track, which apparently was written for Rihanna and rejected according to MTV, fits the bill, featuring more percussion and a back beat that fit the superstar that it was originally written for.
Grimes explains her reasons for sharing the song now in a press release, saying, "It’s our summer jam so we figured we should put it out cuz I am very bored of waiting to finish my album b4 releasing new music haha," as reported by Pitchfork.
