A Southwest Airlines jet hit a JetBlue plane at Boston’s Logan Airport. There were no injuries, but the Southwest plane was damaged.

The incident happened at 7:08 AM EST when the Southwest plane, departing for Kansas City, was being pushed from the gate. The left wingtip struck the horizontal stabilizer of the JetBlue plane. The JetBlue plane was empty at the time, while the Southwest plane had 108 passengers on board.

Marcia Mitchell Cardello told WBZ-AM radio in Boston, “I was glad it happened on [the] ground and not in flight.” Boston Globe.

Another passenger told the radio it felt like the plane got stuck.

“I felt like we weren’t able to move,” she said. Boston Globe.

In a statement to WBZ-TV Southwest Airlines said, “Our employees are working to get the 108 customers scheduled on the flight to Kansas City re-accommodated on other flights to complete their journey.” Time.com.

Massport spokesperson Matthew Brelis told the AP that there was no impact on airport operations. The Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the incident and it is now under investigation. Boston.com.
