Spanish dog gives birth to two green pups

A dog in Spain gave birth to a total of five pups, but two were green.

The owner, Aido Vallelado, said she could hardly believe the sight, reported the Daily Mail.

Vallelado breeds hunting dogs with her father, but none have been strangely colored before.

“I thought the puppies were maybe dirty somehow and I tried to clean them, but the colour wouldn’t come off and then I realized it was the colour of their fur,” she
said.

According to the Mirror, the female in the pair died, however the male is still alive, but weak.

There is no known cause for the odd coloring of the puppies, but Daniel Valverde, the local vet is fascinated and currently investigating.

“There are no other recorded cases of this happening in Spanish scientific literature,” he said.

The poor health of the dog was not linked to their poor health.

The male dog is slowly beginning to lose its pigment.
