A determined teenager completed a 40-mile walk Sunday. However, he also carried the weight of his brother on his back.
The 14-year-old Michigan teenager, Hunter Gandee, walked in the heat and rain to finish the walk Sunday, reported the Associated Press.
Gandee’s brother, Braden, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was strapped securely to his brother’s back.
The disorder makes it unable for him to walk without the help of a brace.
Mayo Clinic, describes cerebral palsy as a disorder of muscle tone, movement, or posture. It is diagnosed most often before birth.
The 30 hour provided challenges for both brothers.
“Braden's legs — the chafing was getting pretty bad. We did have to consider stopping. It was at about the 30-mile point," Gandee said.
With friends and family accompanying them on the walk, Gandee has the support he needed.
The walk left both brothers tired, but Gandee was happy he completed the walk.
“My legs are pretty sore. But we pushed through it. And we're here.”
