Terry Gilliam (Brazil, 12 Monkeys) fans around the world have already gotten the chance to watch his latest movie The Zero Theorem on their big screens, but the United States has been as lucky. But that will soon change, as Amplify, the studio releasing the movie stateside, has just announced that the movie will be getting its theatrical release here on September 19.
According to Rope of Silicon, the studio has revealed the U.S. theaterical release date, while also announcing that, on August 19, the movie will be available On Demand.
Starring Christoph Waltz, David Thewlis, Mélanie Thierry, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Matt Damon and Peter Stormare, Gilliam's movie was first released in Italy in December, while making its theatrical debut in Russia in January, the U.K. in March and in France this weekend. Additionally countries saw the movie released in their territories in between these timelines. Until now, audiences in the United States didn't even have a clue when the movie was supposed to come out, or if it was even coming out, this year.
The movie was featured at 2013's Venice Film Festival as well.
