An Australian promoter has filed a lawsuit against Timbaland who was supposed to before a few gigs in Australia but backed out suddenly. Timbaland has worked with many chart topping artists in the business including Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Madonna.
The promoter, Bosses at Showtime, explained that they payed the producer/performer $500,000 up front to play concerts back in 2008 but Timbaland postponed the shows a month before he was supposed to play these venues, TMZ reported.
Only a few weeks after Timbaland postponed those shows, Showtime explained that they learned Timbaland had scheduled another series of concerts in Finland. Those shows were the same dates in August as the Australia shows that he was supposed to play.
Showtime detailed that when they contacted Timbaland, he still demanded his $500,000 in payment. The promoter is also suing for additional damages.
Timbaland has been keeping busy since this incident including recently producing Michael Jackson album XSCAPE, Daily Mail reported. He also recently performed with NAS in Africa.
