Week after week, you catch glimpse of upcoming movies. Guess what--two more highly anticipated films are coming to theaters this week! Those two are 22 Jump Street and How to Train Your Dragon 2. They will be released on Thursday, June 12. This week’s premieres will have a wide audience of viewers coming to theatres because the films are polar opposites. 22 Jump Street is an action, comedy, and crime film. Plus, its setting is in college. This triple threat is sure to bring in young adults.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 falls into the animation, action, and adventure genre. Although it is geared towards families, it is likely young adults will flock to see this movie too. Crime and dragons are taking over the box office this weekend. Who will do better?

Turns out these cops are too old to pose as narks in high school, but the two can go undercover at a college! Channing Tatum (Jenko) and Jonah Hill (Schmidt) are reunited in 22 Jump Street. The unlikely pair had great chemistry in 21 Jump Street. Unfortunately, teens will not be able to see this movie. It is rated R, which is not surprising. This film is taking place in a college environment. Plus, this film will have foul language, sexual content, drug use, nudity, and violence. This does not mean all colleges have risqué behavior going on behind closed doors. It is popular in comedies like Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle to portray college like this.

Keep in mind, these two are cops. They are going undercover for a reason. Going undercover magnifies their differences. These social differences might split them apart this time. Unless, Jenko’s poor Spanish accent gets them in trouble first. With Ice Cube (Captain Dickinson) watching these two, the duo may crack this case before anyone gets hurt.

It is possible that How to Train Your Dragon 2 will generate more ticket sales, because it is a family movie. Also, How to Train Your Dragon did well with sales from families as well as young adults. Plus, viewers will get to meet Hiccup’s mom! Five years after uniting dragons and Vikings, Hiccup and Toothless explore the world. During one of their expeditions, they find in ice cave full of undiscovered species of dragons. These dragons are not alone. Someone is watching over them. The commercial implies that this mystery caretaker is Hiccup’s mom.

Without seeing this movie, you can tell that Hiccup takes after his mother. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have elements of his father. Hiccup is still strong and brave for his size; he just couldn’t bring himself to slay Toothless. It’s a good thing he didn’t, because we get a second adventure with Hiccup and Toothless! By the way, Jonah Hill is in this movie too! He is Snotlout Jorgenson, who is Hiccup’s cousin and rival. Snotlout has no shame in reminding people he could be chief one day. Hiccup and Snotlout are polar opposites. Snotlout is larger, stronger, and his dragon looks ferocious. Regardless, it is not his birth right to become chief. Unless something happens to his cousin, Snotlout is just another Viking in the clan.

Overall, it looks like Edge of Tomorrow and The Fault in Our Stars has some competition heading their way!
