Last year, the total student debt in the United States reached $1 trillion with no answers for distressed students. Now, college students are able to have their questions answered on Tumblr by the President.
Beginning at 4 p.m. EST today, Obama tackled questions about the student loan crisis and the growing cost of college, Yahoo News reported.
According to The White House Blog , yesterday the President mentioned the bill written by Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
The bill would allow borrowers to replace their previous student loans at today’s lower interest rates.
However, the President seemed to know that Congress would try to fight the bill.
“So you’ve got a pretty straightforward bill here. And this week, Congress will vote on that bill. And I want Americans to pay attention to see where their lawmakers’ priorities lie here,” he said.
This was the first time the President has taken to Tumblr for answering questions.
