Authorities said that two people were killed and several more have been wounded in a shooting that took place early Tuesday in Miami’s Liberty City section.

According to WSVN, police received a call that multiple people had been shot around 2:15 a.m.

The number of those wounded is not clear at this time, but some reports suggested that up to 10 people were shot.

The Associated Press noted that Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden reiterated that investigators are still trying to determine how many were injured by gunfire and do not yet have a motive for the shooting.

"It's very early in our investigation," she said. "I'm not sure how it occurred. We're investigating it now. I don't know if they were all outside standing, some in a car, some not in a car. I don't know that yet."

More than 30 markers to indicate shell casings had been placed outside the apartment complex where the shots were fired.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on this shooting to contact the Miami-Dade Police Department.
