Two 12 year old Wisconsin girls have been arrested and charged with a felony after they allegedly stabbed a friend 19 times in the woods.
The two girls, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier have been charged as adults with attempted homicide. According to Waukesha police, the girls had been inspired by Slender Man, a fictional murder character on horror websites. Both girls wanted to prove that Slender Man exists by killing for him. The girls then decided to have a sleep over with their victim and lured her into the woods where they attacked.
According to CNN, the criminal complaint showed that the girls had been plotting the murder since February. They first contemplated duct tapping the girl in her sleep and stabbing her in the neck. Their next idea was to murder her in a bathroom so that they could easily clean up the mess. The final plan was to act as though the girls were playing an innocent game of hide and seek.
The young girl attacked was also 12 years old and was stabbed all over her body including her arms, legs, and torso. She had a few vital organs hit, but managed to escape and was discovered by a bicyclist, police said, The Chicago Tribune reported.
Waukesha police Chief Jack Russell stated that this incident is a “wake up” call to all parents who let their children browse the internet unmonitored. He advises that parents restrict internet activity.
One of the victim’s stabs was “one millimeter” away from her heart and killing her. Officials say that she is lucky to be alive .The court has set the bond of both attackers at $500,000 each.
