The U.S. is doing their part to help save the existence of the honey bee population, which is a vital species in our food-chain.
According to Khon2, honey bees are responsible for the pollination of our staple diet; which consists of nuts, vegetables and fruits. Their role is very crucial for our food supply, and their extinction can mean a decline to the food industry. President Obama announced that they would find a solution to help improve the honeybees' conservation. This could mean reducing pesticides and infestations, as well as improving the genetic diversity of our ecosystem. Obama's recommended budget estimates that it would mean roughly $50 million for research and pollination purposes.

TWC News reveals that according to the White House, there are roughly 90 commercially grown crops in North America that thrive on the existence of honeybees. The Department of Agriculture along with the Environmental Protection Agency are making their best efforts to resolve this matter, and help improve the population of the honeybee species.
