V. Stiviano, the woman at the center of the Donald Sterling controversy, was assaulted in New York City, according to her lawyer Mac Nehoray.

Two men allegedly physically assaulted her outside of the Gansevoort Hotel on Sunday night after following her home from a restaurant she ate at with some friends and her sister.

According to CNN, Stiviano didn’t file a police report right away because "she had to get out of there," said Nehoray, adding, "I believe she will file a police report Monday.”

The men allegedly punched Stiviano in the face and yelled profanity like racial slurs at her. The right side of her face is swollen as a result.

A phone call with Sterling, during which he made offensive comments about African Americans, has led to his lifetime ban from the NBA and a $2.5 million fine. He has since handed the Los Angeles Clippers over to his wife, Shelly, after it was reported he would be forced to sell the team.
