Rob Reiner is back in theaters this weekend with And So It Goes, a new romantic comedy with Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton. As the trio prepares to promote the project, Reiner had some provocative statements to make in one interview.

Reiner, who directed When Harry Met Sally..., A Few Good Men and Douglas in The American President, spoke about how Hollywood has changed so much in his interview with The New York Daily News.

“They make three types of movies, and if you don't make one of those three, you have to find independent financing: It's either big-action superhero tent-pole thing or it's an animated film or it's an R-rated, raunchy sex comedy,” Reiner said. “They don't make movies about real people.”

Reiner really said he has appreciated his time as an actor, from All In The Family through last year’s The Wolf of Wall Street. He said that those experiences have helped him significantly as a director. It has really helped him understand all the pieces that it takes to make a movie.

“When I was doing All in the Family, half the time, I was looking at where the cameras were, where were the other actors in the scene, what the audience was doing," he told the Daily News. "I'm always looking at the overall [picture]."

Of course, Keaton and Douglas - both Oscar winners, by the way - have been doing interviews as well. While chatting with USA Today, Keaton said one of her favorite parts of And So It Goes was an awkward kiss with Douglas.

“I did enjoy the awkward kiss,” the Annie Hall actress said. “I did. It was fun.”

“Don't act so surprised. God almighty. 'I can't believe I actually enjoyed it,'” Douglas joked to USA Today, mocking his co-star.

And So It Goes opens on Friday.
