If you love Ariana Grande, prepare to love her even more. On Wednesday, Grande set the social media world on fire for various reasons. It all started when she revived TRL for one night only. The revival served as a platform for Grande to announce that she will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards, to perform a dashing piano version of her hit song “Problem,” and to debut her brand new single “Break Free.”
The special was called Total Ariana Live and she was able to book the gig because of her recent success that includes a #1 album and and a #2 song with “Problem.” She gave a stellar piano performance of “Problem” on the one night only special. A nervous Grande announced that she is the first announced performer for the 2014 Video Music Awards that will be held on August 24th, a day before her second album, My Everything, will be released.
At last year’s VMA’s, Grande performed her breakout single “The Way” and “Baby I” on the preshow. This year, she will hit the main stage with a performance of “Break Free.” She debuted “Break Free” on the show and the song shot up to #1 on ITunes right after its release.
