Last week, we got a look at Henry Cavill in his Clark Kent outfit through unconventional means. Today, Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder gave us a look at Cavill back in his Superman outfit during an interview to promote Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Snyder and Cavill spoke with USA Today about the project, without managing to spill any secrets, of course. They also showed off a photo of Cavill in the Superman outfit he wore in Man of Steel. It is very similar in style to the gloomy image of Batman released in May.
The interview does confirm for the first time officially that Ray Fisher will be playing Cyborg in the film, although that had been rumored for months. Jesse Eisenberg is joining as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman.
“It's not an un-fun job, I will say that,” Snyder told the site.
Cavill said that he’s excited to take on the role a second time, as he and Snyder developed their own version of the character in Man of Steel.
“We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit,” Snyder said. “The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me.”
Interestingly, Snyder did say that he wasn’t in a “rush” to bring Batman into his DC Universe, especially with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy still fresh in the audience’s minds. “But on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in,” he explained.
Dawn of Justice opens on May 6, 2016. An image of Cavill as Clark Kent surfaced to promote a charity event for the Royal Marines.
