Tom Delonge took to Instagram on Monday to announce that Blink-182 would be finally returning to the studio to churn out a new album.
On Instagram, Delonge posted a picture of all three band members from when they were much younger and wrote, "Rehearsals start today... And yes there will be a new album #SorryForTheWait #Blink."
According to SPIN, this will be the first album for the band since Neighborhoods was released back in 2011.
Back in April, Mark Hoppus revealed that the wait between albums was because of Delonge's work with his other band, Angels and Airwaves, ClickMusic notes. "Travis [Barker] and I have waited for Blink-182 to get back into the studio this past year."
At this point, not much is known about how far along they are with the album, other than Hoppus claiming they had 25 songs in the works, though who knows if any will ultimately fit whatever direction they might choose to go.
No release window has been provided, but since they're just now planning to sit down and work on the album, it likely won't be out until early 2015 at the earliest.
