We all remember the brutal and heavily publicized murder trial of Casey Anthony that left her a victim of public hatred. Despite the not-guilty verdict, it was widely believed by followers of the case that Anthony murdered her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.
Now, one of Anthony's co-counsels from the trial, Cheney Mason, will attempt to bring light to her side of the story in his soon-to-be released book, Justice in America: How Prosecutors and the Media Conspire Against the Accused.
In an effort to stir excitement for his upcoming work, Mason drew back media attention to the Anthony trial in a recent interview with CNN. He discussed Anthony’s current state of seclusion.
“She can’t go to a beauty parlor, she can’t go shopping to a department store, she can’t go to a restaurant, she can’t even go to McDonald’s. She can’t do anything,” he said.
Mason makes clear his belief that her isolation is a result of the media bias that was generated around the trial, rather than the true content of the case, an issue that he will address in his book, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
