Chuck Palahniuk revealed on Monday that he is indeed working on a sequel to his hit book Fight Club, only it will be in the form of a comic book series.

Pahlahniuk explained to USA Today that he accidentally revealed he was working on the project last year during New York Comic Con.

"I messed up and said I was doing the sequel in front of 1,500 geeks with telephones," he said. "Suddenly, there was this big scramble to honor my word."

Fight Club 2 will be a 10-issue series released through Dark Horse Comics, with Palahniuk writing and Cameron Stewart illustrating.

The sequel to the 1996 book will start a decade later from when the original ending, with the unnamed protagonist now married to Marla Singer and they have a young son. Similar to the original book, it will examine fathers, only now through a different angle.

Fight Club was "such a tirade against fathers -- everything I had thought my father had not done combined with everything my peers were griping about their fathers," Palahniuk said. Now being 52 years of age, he wanted to "revisit it from the father's perspective and see if things were any better and why it repeats like that."

According to Paste, the series will also delve into how Tyler came about. "Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that's popped into his mind," the author cryptically noted.

The first issue of Fight Club 2 drops April 8, 2015.
