On July 5th, comedienne Joan Rivers abruptly walked out on an interview with CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield. Rivers made the television appearance to promote her book, Diary of a Mad Diva. However, the interview quickly went from sweet to sour, leaving Whitfield asking, "are we serious?"

According to CNN.com About two minutes into the interview Whitfield asked Rivers if she intentionally wore fur for the cover of her book to upset animal rights activists. The question initiated the subsequent rant and a quick exit from Rivers.

Within a week of Rivers’ hasty exit, late night talk show host David Letterman gave the comedienne a taste of her own medicine. According to the video posted on USAToday.com , Letterman decided to parody the CNN interview.

He said to Rivers, “people are saying it was a publicity stunt to promote the book.” The fashion police front woman denied using the exit as a platform for her book while slipping in a few quick jokes.

Letterman didn’t waste time waiting for too many punch-lines before taking off his suit jacket and walking off set with a smile from Rivers’ last zinger. However, like a true professional, Joan began to interview herself and answer her own witty and comical questions for the remainder of the interview.
