New Zealand pop sensation, Lorde just brought a whole new meaning to the phrase, “the show must go on.”
The 17-year-old “Royals” singer fell ill during a concert this past weekend in Perth, Australia,MSN Music News reports. She was forced to leave the stage halfway through one of her songs.
“Perth, I’m so sorry, can you give me one minute? I’m just not feeling very well,” the Times of India quotes the young starlet as saying. She returned a few moments later to continue the concert.
When the singer returned to the stage, she thanked her fans for their understanding, saying that she “must have eaten something weird,” the International Business Times notes. The site also mentioned that she thanked her fans again after the show, this time on Twitter.

And while it was quite obvious Lorde wasn’t feeling her best, she didn’t let her illness “slow her down,” states Yahoo News New Zealand. The singer even expressed how upset she felt about rescheduling her tour after she’d fallen under the weather back in April.
Lorde performed some of her most well known hits during the concert, including, “Tennis Court,” “Team,” “Ribs,” and “Buzzcut Season,” according to the Herald Sun.
