James Garner died at age 86. Garner was the popular star of the 1950s Western, Maverick, and tv sleuth show, Rockford Files. Garner died at his home in Los Angeles. With a career that included television and film, Garner was seen in the movie, The Notebook. He also starred with Audrey Hepburn in William Wyler’s The Children’s Hour. One of his most popular films was The Great Escape. In 2005, he received SAG’s lifetime achievement award.

Adam Levine married fiancée Behati Prinsloo in Mexico. The couple got married in a lavish ceremony with over 300 people. Levine is also known in the world of television. Prinsloo is a Victoria’s Secret model. The Maroon 5 singer journeyed all the way to Cabo Los Cabos to tie the knot. The wedding took place at Flora Farms on Saturday. The star-studded event included Jonah Hill, who officiated the wedding.

Rory Mcllroy won the British Open. The athlete battled for the win against Sergio Garcia. Garcia tied for second with Rickie Fowler. This is the third major victory for McIlroy, who joined Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, as he has won a third title before age 25.

Queen Elizabeth’s guards honored the television series, Game of Thrones. The theme song to the popular television show was performed outside Buckingham Palace. In characteristic red and black uniforms, the guards played the popular song from the HBO series.

Actress Sky McCole Bartrusiak was found dead at age 21. Bartrusiak was best known for her role opposite Mel Gibson in the popular Hollywood film, The Patriot. The celebrity has been struggling with epileptic attacks. She died in her home in Texas on Saturday. Her mother attempted CPR, but could not revive her.
