Three eighth graders in a metal band signed a give album contract with Sony.

According to The Washington Post, The three boys, 13-year-olds Malcolm Brickhouse, Alec Adkins, and 12-year-old Jarad Dawkins, belong to the group Unlocking the Truth.

The $1.7 million contract guaranteed two albums and a possible four more.

The deal was confirmed by Sony this past weekend.

The boys were discovered in 2012 by Eric Clapton’s drummer, Steve Jordan, and from there began playing all over, reported CNN.

The Brooklyn based trio also played in Times Square on the weekends last summer, and was making about $1,600.

The boys have been all over the country, including opening for the popular Guns N’Roses band in June, and crowded surfing at Coachella in April.

The parents of the boys are just as excited as they are.

“What started out as play dates went to Times Square and now this. It’s been one great thing after another,” said Tabatha, Jarad’s mother.

The boys will be starting eight grade in the fall, and the parents stress that school work is still first.

“If their schoolwork is not done, they don’t play.”
