The new film from director Terry Gilliam, The Zero Theorem, has finally hit the web and it is just as visually bizarre as anything else the Brazil helmer has done.

In The Zero Theorem, Christoph Waltz stars as Qohen Leth, a hacker who decides to take on an unprovable theory about how “everything adds up to nothing” while he’s waiting for a call about the meaning of life. According to Indiewire, the rest of the cast includes Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis and Melanie Thierry. This group of bizarre personalities work to break Leth’s concentration.

The film looks exactly like what you would expect a Gilliam feature to look like. His other work includes 12 Monkeys, Brazil and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Although he often has trouble getting financing, he still attracts top talent for his films.

The Zero Theorem will be available on VOD next month, but those waiting for a theatrical release won’t be able to see it until Sept. 19. So far, the film has earned mixed reviews, with a 54 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
