The Harry Potter spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, will be filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the same studio at which all of the Harry Potter movies were shot.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, U.K. culture secretary Sajid Javid made the announcement at an industry event.
The Reporter also noted that Warner Bros. acquired the Leavesden studio a few years ago, and as planning to expand the complex with the addition of three new stages and the addition of 100,000 square feet of office space.
According to IGN, the film trilogy will be set 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter series, and will focus on a character named Newt Scamander, an expert on magical creatures, who is mentioned in the Harry Potter books as the author of a textbook. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling (pictured above) will be penning the screenplay, her first attempt at writing for the screen.
While no director or cast members have been announced, the film is planned to be released on November 18, 2016.
