Fifth Harmony has been teasing fans for over a month about their new single, “Bo$$,” and now the wait is over.
The song first became available for streaming on MTV.com. The girl-empowerment track is the first single off their yet-to-be-titled debut album. The super-harmonized track has the feel of popular songs by other girl groups like "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" by En Vogue, “Independent Woman” by Destiny’s Child’s and “Wings” by Little Mix.
The lyrics may have a bit too much popular references, but their vocals and the production, done by The Suspects, evens it out.
Not only did they release the song to Itunes, they also released an equally sassy music video. White Coats, Large letter tiles that spells out confident, arm wrestling, photo shoots and more helped visually bring out the message of “Bo$$.”
Fifth Harmony’s Camilla Cabello says the song is about individuality. “So I think when you turn that song on, feel sexy and feel good about yourself, so the whole point is about being yourself and liking it.”
