Amanda Longacre, the Delaware beauty queen who was stripped of her Miss Delaware crown and told she would not be able to compete in the Miss USA pageant, might be getting another chance.
According to Fox News, The Miss USA pageant is inviting Longcare to compete in their competition for the Delaware crown later in the year. Longacre lost the title after officials within the pageant learned that she would turn 25 in October, a month after the Miss USA competition, according to NBC News. The Miss USA pageant rules state that contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 24 years old to be eligible for the title. Brittany Lewis, the Miss Delaware First runner-up who is also 24, was awarded the crown last week.
In addition to losing her title, Longacre also lost $11,000 in scholarship money. At one point, according to NBC News, Longacre planned to sue the pageant, saying, "This is about the title of Miss Delaware that I rightfully won, and I want to represent the people of Delaware."
