Fans of Garth Brooks have gotten some upsetting news. As of Tuesday, it looks like the country music star’s concerts in Dublin won’t happen.

More than 400,000 tickets had been sold for the concerts that were scheduled at Croke Park stadium on July 25.
Brooks was supposed to play two shows as a "Comeback Special," according to the Associated Press. Ticket sales increased, and they attempted to schedule five shows, and Brooks said that he would play five shows or none. The shows were not granted a license by the city council.
Irish arts professionals are calling this an “embarrassment.” According to the Independent.ie, Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan said, “It is a huge disappointment and when you consider that 400,000 people were going to come to Dublin for these concerts. It’s a huge loss as well to the city but it will result in reputational damage as well to the country.”
There is a live stream of a press conference scheduled for Thursday, according to the website for the artist. The press conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 10th at 12 pm Eastern Standard Time.
