The five planned Garth Brooks shows at Croke Park in Dublin are now in doubt after two shows were not granted a license by the city council.

The Dublin City Council approved the July 25, 26, and 27 shows, but nixed the two following nights, leaving it a very real possibility now that the other three won't happen, the Irish Independent reports.

"I can't say for definite that the three shows are definitely going to happen now," concert promoter Peter Aiken said. "It is up in the air. I am devastated."

When Brooks learned the news, he said that if he can't play all five, he won't play any, saying he would not want to disappoint the 160,000 fans who bought tickets to the July 28 and 29 shows, according to The Irish Times.

"To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do would be like asking to choose one child over another," Brooks said. "For us, it is five shows or none at all."

There has been talk of performing at alternate venues for the last two dates, with Aviva stadium one suggested possibility, or maybe at Kildare's Punchestown racecourse. It isn't known that even if a different venue was approved, whether Brooks would go for it.

Aiken spoke pessimistically about the idea, saying that splitting up the performances would go against Brooks' plans and vision.
