Former President George W. Bush has put his new career as a painter on hold for the moment so he can test his skills as a biographer. That shouldn’t be too hard when his first subject is his father, former President George H.W. Bush.
Crown Publishers announced today that the 43rd President’s book about the 41st President will be out on Nov 11, both in digital and print formats. The book, which is still untitled, will receive a first printing of 1 million copies.
The book will be the first time that a former president has written a book about his father, who also happens to be a former president. (We’re still waiting on John Quincy Adams’ book about John Adams.)
Crown said that the book will cover 41’s World War II service in the Pacific and his political life as a Congressman, the U.S. representative for China, CIA director, Ronald Reagan’s Vice President and his one term in the Oval Office. 43 will also write about how his father has influenced his own life.
“George H. W. Bush is a great servant, statesman, and father,” George W. Bush said in a statement. “I loved writing the story of his life, and I hope others enjoy reading it.”
George W. Bush also wrote Decision Points, a memoir on his personal and political choices, which has sold over 3 million copies since November 2010.
