The new trailer for Gone Girl, the highly anticipated adaptation of the hit Gillian Flynn novel, hash it the web. Anyone who has read the book will get chills seeing it brought to life with David Fincher at the helm and Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne.
Gone Girl centers on the disappearance of Nick’s wife, Amy, played by Rosamund Pike. At first, they seem like the perfect couple, but once she disappears, seedy information about Nick’s past come to light and his lack of obvious empathy raise eyebrows among the media. Suddenly, even Amy’s parents begin to suspect Nick.
The new trailer doesn’t reveal much that readers of the novel don’t already know. But with Fincher’s guiding hand, we can suspect that Flynn and the director have even more twists in the work for us. Flynn wrote the screenplay for the film, which is Fincher’s first since his 2011 The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo adaptation.
In addition to Pike and Affleck, the large ensemble cast includes Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Missi Pyle, Emily Ratajkowski, Sela Ward and Boyd Holbrook. The film hits theaters on Oct. 3, just in time for Oscar season.
