A singer from the '90s R&B group Hi-Five was arrested Thursday and charged with the murder of his wife.
According to KTRK, authorities said that Neal walked into the sheriff's department building in Houston and calmly told authorities that his wife was dead. Law enforcement officials then went to his apartment and found the lifeless body of Catherine Martinez. She was stabbed multiple times and suffered apparent blunt force trauma.
The 24-year-old was a fitness model and an aspiring boxer who worked under the pseudonym Brasilia Martinez. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
KHOU reported that the 40-year-old suspect allegedly told detectives that he and Martinez got into an argument, but then asked for an attorney and refused to answer any more questions.
Neal is facing murder charges and being held on $100,000 bond.
He achieved success in the early '90s as a member of Hi-Five with the group’s No. 1 hit I Like The Way (The Kissing Game).
