Hilary Duff has released the music video for her new single “Chasing the Sun.”
The video for “Chasing the Sun” features Duff tapping into her Lizzie McGuire roots by playing a klutzy office employee who is too caught up in daydreaming to work. Duff’s character imagines herself far away from the office on the beach with a hunky boy instead of actual working. By the end of the video, Duff gets fired for not focusing on the job. For the mother of a toddler, Duff is looking fit in her bikini for the daydream shots.
“Chasing the Sun” is Duff’s first single off of her album that is set to come out this fall. As TheCelebrityCafe previously reported, Duff has not released a new album since 2007’s Dignity. Duff has been busy with family life: raising a two-year-old son named Luca Cruz and getting separated from hockey player husband Mike Comrie.
"I took a break from music for quite awhile, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully and I'm really proud of the album I've made," Duff told E!Online. "'Chasing the Sun' is a light and fun summer song that I hope helps people to feel a little more carefree."
“Chasing the Sun” is now available on iTunes. The release date for Duff’s new album is still not set.
