Hillary Clinton appeared on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Tuesday, where she spoke about the current crisis in Gaza and Israel. She was there to promote her memoir Hard Choices, but not there to announce anything about 2016.

At the start of the show, Stewart teased that Clinton would announce her plans to run for president in 2016, but she joked that Stewart had spoiled it. “I think I’ll just reconsider where I go do it,” she said.

As Vanity Fair points out, they did go through a presidential aptitude test though, which Stewart thinks she may have passed.

“Would you like that office to have corners? Or would you like it to not have corners?” Stewart asked.

“I think that the world is so complicated, the fewer corners that you can have, the better,” Clinton replied.

Stewart and clinton did touch on some serious subjects though. According to Politico, the interview included Clinton’s first public comments on Gaza and Israel since leaving the State Department.

Clinton said she was sympathetic to the people in Gaza, saying that they are “trapped by their leadership.” However, she said Israel should be able to defend itself.

“Unless we can give people enough of a sense of security on both sides that they will be better off and their children are going to be better off, then the guys with the guns can always disrupt anything,” Clinton said.
