The first trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Homeland was released on Friday, with executive producer Alex Gansa promising one unpopular character would not be back.
Showtime announced a Oct. 5 premiere date for the latest season of the show at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, TheWrap reports. Ganso also revealed that Dana Brody would not be back for the fourth season.
"I can say unequivocally that Dana Brody will not be back," the executive producer said, nor would it be likely that anyone else in Nicholas Brody's family would appear.
The trailer shows both Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison, with her headed to Pakistan - and leaving her baby - for a new mission and Mandy Patinkin's Saul now under the employ of a independent contractor.
Gansa also spoke about the show being snubbed by the Emmys, with Homeland not managing one nomination, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I don't know how you can look at the last six episodes last season and not say Homeland is one of the best shows on television."
The executive producer noted that originally they planned to film the latest season in Israel, but were glad they decided to go with Cape Town instead.
