One person is dead and several others were injured after a tour bus from Quebec headed to New York City crashed on Friday morning.
According to CBSNewYork, the bus carrying more than 50 passengers rolled over just after 7:30 a.m. on Interstate 87, north of Albany.
The Glens Falls Post-Star reported that the casualty was a 14-year-old girl who was traveling with her mother. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition, one passenger was airlifted to a hospital and several others suffered injuries, however, the extent of their injuries are not known at this time.
The 61-year-old driver reportedly did not step on the brakes before the bus skidded through a guard rail and off of the roadway where it rolled onto its side.
The passengers were en route to New York City for a three-day sight-seeing trip.
The 2008 tour bus was operated by Autobus Fleur de Lys through the tour company Jaimon Voyage of Trois Rivieres in Quebec.
The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
