Jeremy Meeks, the convicted felon who became a social media star after Stockton, California police posted his latest mugshot on Facebook, now has a Hollywood talent agent. His new agent is dreaming of turning him into a reality star, and is defending her decision to work with him.
Meeks’ mug shot went viral last month after the 30-year-old’s mugshot appeared on Facebook. He was arrested when police did an investigation into gangs and was booked on felony weapons charges.
After the mug shot became a hot topic around the web, Gina Rodriguez got interested in representing Meeks in Hollywood. She’s worked with Nadya “Octomom” Suleman and V. Stiviano, who is at the center of the Donald Sterling scandal. She was a porn star, but then joined GR Media Firm as an agent.
“If this was a different situation, like if someone was actually hurt or there was violence involved, I definitely would not be taking him on,” Rodriguez told Fox News last week, defending her decision to sign him. “But we don’t know Jeremy’s full story yet, and I don’t feel like he got a fair break. I really don’t. If we can help him in any way with his future and help him turn his life around, that’s what I’m about. That’s what I want to do for him.”
She later told ABC News that his unique look - which features tattoos and a pair of piercing blue eyes - will make him great for Hollywood.
“Jeremy could make somewhere between $3,000 to $100,000 per month through endorsements and modeling. We are also speaking with several production companies about following Jeremy's foray into the entertainment industry,” Rodriguez told ABC News.
Meeks is being held at San Joaquin County Jail on $1.1 million bail and faces 11 felony counts. His mother launched a fundraiser to raise money for his legal defense. However, she is still $20,000 shy of her goal. It looks like the Internet is happy with gawking at his mugshot, but isn't interested in seeing him back on the streets.
