Part of Disney’s plan to get fans excited for Star Wars: Episode VII has been a charity called Force For Change and a contest to win a walk-on part in the movie. There are just days left to go, so director/co-writer J.J. Abrams appeared in a new video.
Force For Change, which was created with UNICEF, began in May, launching with a video that confirmed filming was taking place in Abu Dhabi.
Now, Monday’s video is showing off a new vehicle that looks like a cross between an X-Wing and a Z-95 Headhunter. It’s a little different from the familiar X-Wing and doesn’t feature an astromech droid behind the cockpit.
In the video, Abrams explains the charity and the two biggest prizes - a chance to be in the movie and host an early screening of the film in your hometown.
Episode VII is still slated to open on Dec. 18, 2015, even though production was recently delayed due to Harrison Ford’s injury. New members of the cast include Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and John Boyega. The most recent casting addition was Christina Chong, who may have already filmed her scenes.
You can enter the contest and make a donation at Omaze.com.
